Six October University Library (SOUL) is one of the best academic libraries in the nation. It acts as a beacon of education and culture to support the curriculum, academic programs, and scientific research, along with providing the local community with services they are looking for. SOUL previously functioned to support mainly the print-based materials, namely, books, a limited number of journals, and other publications. Now, it provides access to Internet, and international databases alongwith self-learning material. Its collection has contents of university library, public library, and electronic library (includes about 4 thousands of CDs and DVDs), and direct access to selected set of databases provided by international companies such as: (EBSCO) to cover most of the O6University disciplines, such as: Academic Search Complete and Dentistry & Oral Sciences Source, Medline with Full Text and ERIC, SPORTDiscus with Full Text, eBook Academic Collection, Arab World Research Source, and Library& Information Science & Technology Abstracts and GreenFILE. About paper based collection, SOUL holds some scientific periodicals and more than 85 thousand of textbooks, references and others, written in Arabic and foreign languages, in addition to more than one thousand theses. All collection are available for search through the library Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). The library system (KOHA) is international open source software of unparalleled utility and incomparable reach. So, I am pleased to welcome you to (SOUL).
