Backgound : Cone beam CT (CBCT) is becoming an increasingly utilized imaging modality for dental examinations providing volume imaging to measure bone densities without the interference of adjacent tissues. Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) has shown rapid adoption in clinical dental practice over the past 10 years providing high quality and accurate 3-dimensional (3D) representations of the osseous elements of the maxillofacial skeleton including temporomandibular joint (TMJ).
